Contemporary theatre, workshop and sensory installation-art performance

The Jardin de l’ Enjeu
present "CRYOGENIC"
an installation-art performance
12th - 24th of February 2009, in Pai, Thailand

(and at the Avignon Festival, France
6th - 30th of July 2009)

It is the final journey of a trilogy begun in
Avignon in 2003 with
THERMOGENIC,
continued with
HYDROGENIC in July 2007.

A neighbourly conversation between "Scientifists" and “Tropicalians“ is brutally interrupted by the chaotic noise of the ceiling caving in. This causes a slip towards new organisation. Arrangements are made and character traits forge in order to ensure reconstruction of the site...
Setting in space

The actors are chosen because of their motivation and inspiration, they may be beginners, initiated to the performance
through our contemporary theatre workshop.

about the theatre workshop

A space filled with flowers; aquatic, warm and colourful. At the heart of the installation, a transparent dome where the "Scientifists" conduct their business, a lab, nerve centre and the life engine of this transitional space,
illusion and appearance,
dream and reality.

"Tropicalians" living self-sufficiently, working together
in a village dedicated to the research of ultra low temperatures and its manifestations

The stake,
A contemporary theatre workshop,
a quest for the avant-garde, a metamorphosis of the scenic codes and navigating in a living, available space.

The idea for "CRYOGENIC" comes from
the myth of eternal life
through derisory research,
the illusion of re-birth
